Stationary elements are present throughout the wedding process and play ongoing roles in setting & carrying out the theme of a wedding.

Typically, there are 3 elements to the wedding stationary

1) Save the Date cards

“Save the Date” cards are usually sent 6 to 18 months in advance of the wedding. These have become increasingly popular trend in the past 5 years. These are particularly important for destination weddings or wedding taking place over a holiday. They typically include the name of the bride & groom, the date & the location. These can be found at Creative Bride – they have hundreds to choose from!

2) Wedding invitations

Invitations involve a number of decisions including the printing style, paper, font, wording & delivery. When deciding on what type of invitation to order, you should consider the type of wedding you are having (formal vs informal), how many invited guests & budget allocated to invitations. Right now, I am loving Wedding Paper Divas and highly recommend them!

3) Thank You Cards

Thank you notes are a great way to connect with your guests after the wedding is over. Some couple will include a wedding photograph in their thank you notes. Every guest might receive the same thank you note, or the photos can be personalized, which is common where instant cameras are left on the reception tables. This allows the couple to share moments that were documented by their guests.

Remember, stationery is a way to tie your wedding theme together – have fun and enjoy the planning process!

Until next time,
